Dr. Gisela Ruiz Vega is a postdoctoral researcher at the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2). She obtained her Bachelor and Master degree in Biomedical engineering from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia in 2013 and 2015, respectively. During this time, she worked at the SISEMED company as clinical engineer consultant in medical equipment.
She received her Electrical and Telecommunication Engineering PhD (2019) at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) with honors, working in the development of fast and simple electrochemical magneto-biosensors and their integration in Point-of-Care diagnostic devices. In the NanoB2A, her current goal is based on optimize the existent photonic biosensor device to assembly in a POC prototype for the SARS-COV-2 detection.
