Dr. Leyre Gómez is a PROBIST postdoctoral fellow under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie agreement No. 754510 at the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2). She received her Chemical Engineering PhD (2014) at the University of Zaragoza (Spain) with honors, becoming a specialist on the synthesis of laser-responsive inorganic nanoparticles for diverse applications (phototherapy, drug delivery systems, photocatalysis, etc.), and their scale-up production by micro-reactors. In 2015, Dr. Gómez moved to the Institute of Physics of the University of Amsterdam (the Netherlands) for a postdoctoral appointment of 4 years, where her research focused on all-inorganic perovskite quantum dots for photovoltaic applications. She is currently working within the Nanobiosensors and Bioanalytical Applications group (NanoB2A) and the Supramolecular NanoChemistry and Materials group (NanoUp) to join efforts on fusing their expertise. Her goal is to integrate porous nanomaterials as specific receptors on photonic sensors for environmental monitoring.
